DMY Teacher’s Assistant Program (TAP)

Have you ever had an in-class teacher help you deepen your practice and free you in your postures in ways you never knew were possible? Are you aspiring to become a teacher and don’t know where to start? This is your answer!
This hands on training will spark your true understanding of Asana and will further your yoga experience beyond your expectations! Learn more about your body, learn about joints, how they rotate properly, the spine and it’s interaction with your hips and pelvis. You will experience principles of alignment with a deepened awareness which will allow you to fully understand the Asanas you practice.
Upon completion, you will gain:
- Enhanced techniques for working one on one with students/clients
- Confidence and skill to assist independently of teaching

Join DMY Instructors as they teach you the corrective and deepening full-body adjustments of the 53 asanas and 11 series within the 90 minute Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga sequence. This intensive course is essential and effective training for all new or experienced teachers, aspiring teaching assistants, or for those who would like to deepen their understanding of the art of asana.
This program serves as the pre-requisite for entering our Teacher Mentorship Program (TMP) and becoming a DMY Instructor. Completion of this comprehensive 24-hour course will give you a solid understanding of alignment and form as well as specific hands-on adjustments for all of the foundation postures. You can apply everything you learn here to teaching any style of yoga. This course is your Introduction to becoming a powerful student and teacher of Power Vinyasa yoga.
Friday’s evening program is the first of a series of 3 classes, which must all be taken in order to complete DMY’s TAP – Teacher’s Assistant Program. Friday hours: 6-9PM; Sat and Sun hours: 8-5:30PM.
Required reading: Journey into Power, by Baron Baptiste. JIP book must be read before the beginning of this program. You should be familiar with the postures in the book.
