Private Instruction
The study of yoga originated as a dialogue between the guru and the disciple. Here at Dancing Mind we honor that tradition by offering 1-on-1 private instruction. Private classes can occur in the studio or at your home. Attention is paid to proper alignment, breath and to developing a practice that you can do on your own.
Types of private sessions we offer:
Private Power Yoga: Explore specific areas of interest such as alignment in asanas, philosophy, meditation, chanting, etc. Work one-one with one of our expert instructors and take your practice to whole new levels of understanding!
Pre-natal Yoga: An ideal way to stay in shape and add stamina during and for your pregnancy. This age-old practice keeps you limber, tones your muscles, and improves your balance and circulation, with little, if any, impact on your joints. Prenatal yoga is also beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe deeply and relax, which will come in handy as you face the physical demands of labor, birth, and motherhood. In fact, one of the first things you learn in a yoga class is how to breathe fully. The breathing technique known as ujjayi requires you to take in air slowly through your nose, filling your lungs, and exhale completely until your stomach compresses.
Yoga for Athletes: Let our expert instructors help you achieve your athletic goals. Yoga makes a perfect companion for athletes by helping you develop concentration through relaxed, deep breathing while it improves balance, strength and flexibility. Yoga is a great low-impact way to cross train. Cross training is necessary for athletes who do the same sport or exercise routine year-round. Adding new exercises can help reduce injury, relieve training boredom, add variety and help recover from hard aerobic or strength workouts.
Yoga Therapy: Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of Yoga. Students learn body and breath awareness techniques, a series of yoga postures designed specifically for the health condition being addressed, and breathing, meditation and relaxation techniques. Focus is on the unique goal of each student and accessing each individual’s ability to heal. Those with injuries or pain due to sports or work-related injuries, including rotator cuff, wrists, low back, knees and/or feet may benefit from yoga therapy.
Corporate Yoga: Have your company bring your office staff in for a class to relax and rejuvenate!
Yoga Party: Great gifts for bachelor, bachelorette or birthday parties.
