Chelsea Bio Pic

Chelsea first encountered yoga in a large picture book that was sitting on the floor of her older sister’s bedroom. She flipped through pranayamas and asanas, headstands and arm balances, and was fully enraptured by the exotic look of it all. It wasn’t until age 13 or so that Chelsea attended her first yoga class – a HOT yoga class, to be exact. Slipping and sliding on her sweat-soggy mat in loose-fitting gym clothes did not deter her from dancing out each posture with as much gusto as she could muster.

The dominoes continued to fall as she grew older and became more and more interested in the yoga way of life. She valued the way yoga made her feel in and out of the classroom, and looked forward to the challenges that each posture presented to her. She began teaching yoga classes at the College of William & Mary’s Recreational Sports Center while she worked toward her degree in Linguistics and Philosophy and has continued, following graduation, to teach in Falls Church part-time.

She is excited about her new position at Dancing Mind Yoga, which symbolizes a world that fascinates and humbles her, and that she hopes, one day, to fully understand.
