Christen Iannone

ChristianI currently split my time between my psychotherapy practice and teaching yoga. Yoga is a way of life for me. I am grateful for it and love to offer it to everybody.
I began practicing yoga in 1998 during graduate school. I immediately felt the emotional benefits of a yoga practice- a calmer state of being. However, it was not until 2003, after taking my first Baptiste Power Vinyasa class, did I start a more regular yoga practice. It seemed to immediately hook me in.
I am an athlete so I was drawn to the physical challenges that the Baptiste practice provided me. I also noticed how my body was healing itself from chronic running injuries. My body felt free and strong at the same time. I also realized that my thoughts, feelings and experiences on my yoga mat mirrored the way I was in every aspect of my life. This awareness helped me take action and create the life I wanted to live.
Yoga helps you look at how you deal with challenges and offers new possibilities. It peels the layers and masks away so that the true you can emerge. Because of my own personal transformation, I have rediscovered my joyfulness and free-spirit nature. Due to all of this, I am dedicated to teaching yoga.
My classes are fun, challenging, and nurturing to the mind, body and spirit. I completed my RYT 200 (Yoga Alliance) in an affiliated Baron Baptiste studio in 2008, and have attended Level I Teacher Training and Personal Revolution- GREAT Program with Mr. Baron Baptiste. I also continue to train with Baron Baptiste so that I can deepen my own authenticity and offer that to my students.
