Amy Walter
I began taking yoga classes about 18 years ago. I practiced one or two times a week and loved yoga as a method of cross training and injury prevention for all my other athletic endeavors which include rugby, racquetball, bicycling, running, and weight training. About a year ago, I took my first Baptiste Power yoga class. It was the hardest yoga class I had ever taken, both mentally and physically. I loved the challenge. I got serious and I started practicing Baptiste Power yoga more frequently. My aches and pains from old injuries began disappearing and I felt a stronger and more mobile than I ever did from pumping iron.
I want to share with others the power and joy that I have found through yoga, so in 2010 I begun working towards a yoga teacher certification. I have completed DMY Intensive Teacher Training, in February, and DMY TAP Program in May, both with DMY owner Paula Baake. I have also attended Level I Teacher Training Bootcamp with Mr. Baron Baptiste in June.
It is my hope that in assisting, I will be able to deepen the practice of others, both physically and spiritually.
